From Monday 30 March onward, all therapy sessions will be provided via telehealth, using Zoom. Our staff are all working very hard to ensure that this change occurs smoothly so that there is as little interruption to children’s progress as possible. At the same time, our creative therapists and families are discovering that therapy sessions via Zoom can be just as fun and engaging as sessions in the clinic or at school, while still addressing priority goals. While we will miss seeing our clients and families in the clinic and at schools, we will still be face-to-face via Zoom and in many ways our connection can be enhanced. For example, telehealth provides the opportunity for children to show their therapist their favourite toys and pets, and for strategies to more readily generalise to the real-life home environment.
I am incredibly grateful to our hard-working, creative and caring team of staff, and to our community of clients and families for the care and encouragement they have also shown toward our staff in this extremely challenging time.
